Cherry Hill Park
The Cherry Hill Recreational Park is a recreational vehicle park and campground facility located in College Park, Prince George’s County, MD. O’C&L was retained by the owner of the park to perform engineering and surveying services to facilitate a major expansion to the existing facility. The owner wished to add: 2 new lodge buildings; 25 new rental cabins; a new indoor pool; a new bathhouse; a new playground; a new miniature golf course; a new pavilion; an expansion to the main office; and the requisite site, parking, utility, storm water management, and access improvements. The site is proposed to be built over a 20 – 25 year period.
O’C&L was asked to assist with park development in 2005 and has remained on the project to the present. O’C&L has coordinated with the owner, the owner’s contractors, and multiple regulatory agencies to facilitate the completion of the project. O’C&L has worked with the Prince George’s County Government; the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission; The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission; Maryland Department of the Environment; the United States Army Corps of Engineers; and numerous contractors, outside consultants, and other entities to facilitate the design, permitting, and construction of the campground expansion.
O’C&L managed the permitting of a large, phased expansion for current and future development. O’C&L remains on-call to assist with further permitting, development and expansion for any future build out.
